If you added a Company and saved the data, the Company will not show up in Current Investments until you have a transaction created for that company.
One way to check whether the company you added is in the Seraf system is to click on the Portfolio Management link on the left hand navigation, then click on the Edit/Delete button. Choose "A Company in Your Account" and click on the edit button. A drop down menu will appear on the right hand side of the page. If you have correctly entered a company and saved it, it should appear in the drop down menu. If you don't see the company there, chances are you forgot to save your entry.
