How do I import multiple investments to Seraf?

To bulk import multiple investments to Seraf, check out this video tutorial on Importing Investments, or follow the directions outlined below.

In order to import multiple investments to Seraf all at once, you will need to download the Seraf spreadsheet template file.

To do this, click on the Portfolio Management link on the left sidebar. Next, click on the Import Tab. Now you can download the Import Spreadsheet Template file. The template contains 5 sheets:

  1. Instructions
  2. Companies
  3. Rounds
  4. Transactions
  5. Fund Transactions

Our template file is carefully designed to allow you to successfully import all the related layers of your investment information: companies you have invested in, details regarding their rounds of investment, and transactions involving the security issued in each round.

Fill out each of the sheets following the instructions closely and save the file on your computer in a file that ends in .xls, .xlsx or .ods. (Please note that you may only import 60 rows of data per sheet at one time).

Next, return to the Create Import Spreadsheet page where you downloaded the template and click on the Choose File button to select your saved file. Now click the Upload button and then hit Save at the bottom of the page. (Please note that all Import Spreadsheet files will be saved to Documents & Reports under the Imports tab.)

The next step is to actually import each sheet to Seraf. Start by clicking the Import Companies from this Spreadsheet button. Once the process is complete, you will be given confirmation of the companies that have been successfully imported. If you need to make edits, go ahead and update your spreadsheet and repeat the process. If you have no changes, proceed to the next button, Import Rounds of Investment from this Spreadsheet. After ensuring that all rounds have been successfully imported, you can move on to the final step, Import Transactions. And if you have fund investments, then Import Fund Transactions.

Once the spreadsheets have been successfully imported, you will be able to view your investments in the Current or Exited Investments table, as well as your Transaction Register.
