Having detailed records is important not only for you as an investor, but also for your family and advisors.
To add more information about the companies, rounds and transactions you entered with Quick Add, you will need to use Seraf's editing tools.
To start, click on the Portfolio Management link on the left sidebar. Next, locate the company you want to edit, and click the pencil icon on the right. This will bring you to a page where you can enter more information about the company, including industry, legal entity, contact information, attorney details, etc. Remember to hit Save at the bottom of the page.
Now you will want to edit the round, so click on the Round Tab located within Portfolio Management. Locate the name of the company - the round name will be Series Unspecified - and click the pencil icon to edit. Once you are on the edit page, change the round name to something more descriptive, like "Series A" or "Bridge to C", then enter the date the round closed.
You will also need to enter an accurate share price since Quick Add investments automatically default to a share price of $1. You can also enter the total amount raised / size of the round - this is the aggregate amount invested by all investors, not your personal transaction - and the post money valuation as well as a memo. Now hit Save.
The last step is to go to the Transactions Tab, locate the investment you want to edit, and click the pencil icon. Because Quick Add defaults to Stock Purchase as the transaction type, you will want to make sure this field is correct. You will also need to edit the Shares and Share Price since Quick Add investments automatically assign a share price of $1. Once you have entered all of the information you want, click Save.
Congratulations! Now your records are more detailed and will be a greater asset to you in the future.
